Ingredients

  1. 2 eggs

  2. 180 g sugar

  3. 200 ml vegetable oil

  4. 200 ml milk

  5. 220 g maize flour (medium)

  6. 100 g flour

  7. 1 pinch salt

  8. 1 packet baking powder

  9. For drenching:

  10. 5 tbsp Langnese Summer Blossom Honey

  11. 200 ml orange juice

  12.
1 tsp vanilla sugar

  13. 1 pinch ground coriander

Preparation

  1. Heat your electric oven to 180° Celsius. Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy, then add oil and milk. Mix maize flour, flour, salt and baking powder and stir into the batter. Brush the batter onto a baking sheet covered in baking paper and bake for about 25 minutes (gas oven: Level 3, convection oven 160°C).

  2. For the drench, mix the summer blossom honey, orange juice, vanilla sugar and coriander. When the cake is done baking, drench it with the honey mixture while it is still warm and cut it into rhombuses. If desired, serve the rhombuses with fresh fruit and garnish with mint leaves.
