Mozzarella “beehive”

  1. 4 balls of mozzarella (125 g each)

  2. 6 tomatoes

  3. 1 bundle basil

  4. Juice and zest of 1 lemon

  5. 5 tbsp walnut oil

  6. 5 tbsp Langnese Summer Blossom Honey

  7. ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

  8. Salt

  9. Coarsely ground peppercorns in different colours


  1. Drain the mozzarella balls. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems and cut both mozzarella and tomatoes into slices. Pluck the basil leaves, wash them and dab them dry, then use them to create “beehives” on a platter in combination with the mozzarella and tomatoes.

  2. For the marinade, mix the lemon juice and zest, walnut oil and summer blossom honey, add cayenne pepper, salt and pepper to taste, sprinkled onto the “beehives”, to taste and serve.
