Drone

The 500 to 2,000 male bees in the hive have no sting, are unable to eat independently and neither help to build the honeycomb nor feed and tend to the larvae, nor defend the hive. Nonetheless, the drones’ purpose in life is just as indispensable as all the other roles in the beehive: to mate with the queen in the ‘nuptial flight’. The successful drones then fall dead to the ground, while the rest are driven out of the hive in the so-called ‘drone battle’.

Langnese Honey is a gift of nature. To ensure that it can continue to give us its best in the future, we take special care to use natural resources responsibly.
