Europe bestows upon us an impressive variety of landscapes that are as diverse as the flavours of our honeys. From the sun-drenched coasts of the Iberian Peninsula, through the blossoming countryside of Germany, and on to the deep forests of Eastern Europe: We meticulously select the regions in which nature reveals its full splendour. Each landscape, with its unique fauna, imbues our honeys with their own distinctive character. In collaboration with our experienced beekeepers, we ensure that this European diversity, of the highest quality, enriches every moment of your enjoyment.
Bulgaria
The raw power of the mountains
In the biodiverse regions of the Balkans, we find a natural world that has retained its own unique character. Far away from major urban centres, our partners practise beekeeping that is rooted in a proud tradition. The mountainous landscapes, with their wild herb-filled meadows, offer the bees ideal conditions. We carefully select these natural treasures especially for you, in order to impart our honeys with a flavour that will enchant you with the unadulterated power of nature with every spoonful.
Our organic blossom honeys benefit from the biodiverse mountain landscapes of the Balkans.
Germany
Blossoming native landscapes
Beekeeping has a long tradition in Germany. Between blossoming orchard meadows and fields of yellow rapeseed in the north, and rolling, dark forests in the south, the bees gather nectar and honeydew from a diverse array of flora. This results in honeys with a flavour that reflects the landscapes of Germany.
German blossom honey is also used in our Landhonig (Country Honey).
Italy
The sun of the south
With its contrasting landscapes – from the foothills of the Alps all the way down to Sicily – Italy offers wonderful conditions for our bees. On spring-blooming Alpine meadows and in the Tuscan forests, our beekeepers carry out their work with the utmost passion. We cherish Italy for its distinctive honeys, which embody Italian flair and perfectly complement our range.
Portugal
The wild beauty of the Atlantic coast
Along the rugged Atlantic coast of Portugal and in its warm hinterland, we find honeys that embody the spirit of the Iberian Peninsula. Here, our local beekeepers perform their work with a deep love for nature, benefiting from the unique flora that stretches from the Algarve to the Alentejo. Wild lavender, in particular, characterises the landscape here and provides the bees with an abundance of nectar.
Romania
A vast diversity from the Carpathians to the Danube Delta
Romania is home to some of the largest acacia forests in Europe. In the valleys of the Carpathians, the bees find flora of impressive purity in May and June. In July and August, the lime-tree (linden) forests in the Danube Delta yield rich lime honey, whilst the vast sunflower fields produce golden sunflower honey. Our beekeepers typically migrate with their bee colonies in pursuit of the flowering landscapes. We cherish Romania for its exquisite honeys, which form an important part of our range.
Spain
The intensity of the Mediterranean sun
Spain is one of Europe’s most important fruit-producing regions. In the sun-drenched coastal areas, as well as in the heartland, we find an impressive variety of natural treasures. From groves of snow-white orange blossom through to dark forests, the country offers a vast range of flora. Our beekeepers combine millennia-old tradition with modern diligence in order to capture the intensity of the Spanish sun for you, offering you an authentic flavour experience every day.
Ukraine
The golden power of the vast plains
In summer, the plains of Ukraine are transformed into a sea of brilliant yellow blooms. Vast fields of sunflowers dominate the landscape and provide the bees with an abundance of food. We cherish this region as a veritable “honey treasure trove”, where the art of beekeeping is held in high regard. The honeys harvested here absorb the power of the sun and will delight you with their balanced character, which makes them the ideal accompaniment to our most popular classic honeys.
Hungary
The home of acacia honey
In Hungary, we encounter a beekeeping culture that celebrates honey as a true source of national pride. In particular, the acacia forests around Lake Balaton offer ideal conditions for acacia honey of the utmost purity. Our local beekeepers are true specialists in this monofloral variety and, thanks to their extensive experience, are able to guarantee first-class quality. We carefully select Hungarian honeys especially for you during our search for clarity and a delicate sweetness for our honeys – whether in jars or in our handy dispenser bottles.
